How to combine photos into one PDF
Forms often take one file, but your documents are five photos. Combining them into a single PDF, one photo per page, is quick — and it does not require sending your ID to a website you have never heard of.
Steps
- Photograph each page flat, straight from above, in daylight.
- Open the JPG to PDF tool and select all the photos at once.
- Put them in order with the arrows and remove any extras.
- Pick the page size and margin, then create the PDF.
- Open the PDF to check every page before sending it.
Take photos that read well
Lay the document on a flat, dark surface, stand straight above it and let the page fill most of the frame. Daylight from a window beats the flash, which leaves a bright glare over the text.
Check each photo before moving on: blurry text is the main reason a submitted document is sent back.
Order, page size and margins
Put the pages in the order the recipient expects — for an ID, the front before the back. Letter is the safe choice to print in the US; "Same as the photo" gives each page the photo's shape with no white borders, which reads best on screen.
Landscape photos get a landscape page automatically, so nothing is shrunk to fit sideways.
Keeping the file small enough
Upload forms often cap files at a few megabytes. The tool scales each photo to what a page needs at 300 dpi, so a phone photo usually takes between 300 KB and 1 MB in the PDF. If the limit is tighter, split the documents into two PDFs.
Built-in alternatives
On an iPhone, select the photos in Photos, tap Share, then Print, and pinch outwards on the preview: it opens as a PDF you can save or share. On Windows, select the images in File Explorer, right-click, choose Print and pick "Microsoft Print to PDF".
Both work, but give less control over order, size and margins. The tool also strips each photo's GPS location and adds no author or creation date to the document.
Frequently asked questions
How do I put multiple pictures into one PDF?
Select all the photos at once in the JPG to PDF tool, reorder them, pick a page size and create the PDF. Each photo becomes one page.
Can I combine iPhone HEIC photos into a PDF?
Yes. HEIC photos are read in the browser and go into the PDF the right way up.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The PDF is put together in your browser; the photos never leave your device.
How many photos can one PDF hold?
Up to 60, which covers any document packet without weighing down a phone.
