Step by step

- Pick a size: 640 px works on screen, 2048 px for print.
- Download PNG for digital use or SVG for a print shop.
When to use a link QR code
The link QR code is the most versatile format: it carries a URL and takes whoever scans it straight to the page, with no typing. It works for any public address — a company site, a catalogue, a product page, a sign-up form, a social profile, a digital menu, a CV or a portfolio.
Because it is a static code, the content is baked into the image itself. That means it never expires and does not depend on an intermediary service staying online. In exchange, the destination cannot be changed after printing — if the link changes, you need a new code.
Short links scan better
The longer the URL, the denser the QR code grid and the harder it is to read, especially on small prints or curved surfaces. An address carrying dozens of tracking parameters produces a visibly busier code than a short link.
If your URL has a lot of UTM parameters, consider shortening it before generating the code. Alternatively, increase the export size and keep error correction at M — the balance between density and fault tolerance.
PNG or SVG: which one to download
PNG is a pixel format and covers most digital uses: a post, an email, a slide, a screen. Pick 1024 px or 2048 px if the code will also end up on small printed material.
SVG is vector based, so it can be scaled to any size without losing sharpness. It is the right format for print shops, banners, storefronts, stickers or anything a designer will resize.
When to use it

Frequently asked questions
How do I create a QR code from a link for free?
Paste the website address in the field above. The QR code appears automatically in the preview and can be downloaded as PNG or SVG, with no sign-up.
Do I need to type https:// at the start of the link?
No. If you type just example.com, the generator completes the address with https:// automatically before creating the code.
Does a link QR code expire or stop working?
No. The code generated here is static: the URL is baked into the image itself. It keeps working for as long as the destination address exists.
Can I change the destination after printing the QR code?
Not with a static code. Changing the destination after printing requires a dynamic QR code, which uses an intermediary redirect. For links that may change, point the code at a URL you control and change the redirect on your own server.
What is the minimum size to print a QR code?
The rule of thumb is 2 cm x 2 cm for scanning from about 30 cm away. For posters read from a distance, make each side at least one tenth of the scanning distance — at 2 metres, about 20 cm.
